TECHNICAL SERVICES TESTIMONIALS

Dear Steve,
I want to extend a belated note of thanks to you for your willingness to come out to my home in Tyler this past year and for providing your invaluable expertise in helping my Steinway to “be all that it could be”.  I really appreciate the time you took to really try to meet my needs and expectations.  You have raised my level of appreciation for and enjoyment of the instrument immensely.  It is now a joy to play, which is a far cry from what it was before you worked on it. I must also extend my thanks to your lovely wife, Amanda, who listened to my concerns about the piano, offered practical advice on how to remedy the situation, and didn’t take advantage of my dissatisfaction with it in order to sell me one of her own pianos (which she could very easily have done, as I was fully prepared to do so).  That was true professionalism and shows a level of sales ethics that is rarely seen in our culture today.  Kudos to you both!  I pray the two of you are doing well and prospering in your professions.  May God bless you both richly.  If there is ever anything I can do to help the two of you, please let me know.

Sincerely,
John

Piano Teaching Testimonials

From Amy and Steve:

Our son and daughter have taken piano lessons with Mrs. Byars for about 18 months.  The progress they have made far exceeded any expectations we had and demonstrated to us what a wonderful teacher Amanda is.  Not only did our children grow as piano players, they gained more confidence in themselves.

Amanda was able to impart her enthusiasm and love of playing the piano onto our children.  Rather than work only from a piano lesson book, she would play different pieces of music and allow them to choose what they wanted to learn.  By allowing them to choose the piano pieces that they wanted to learn, they became part of the teaching process.  They had more incentive and motivation to practice and play.

We have been able to observe the last few minutes of some of our children’s lessons.  This is where we witnessed the wonderful connection that developed between teacher and student.  Amanda would relish in our children’s accomplishments and acknowledge each newly learned measure of music.  She was very proud of each and every student as was evident during recitals.  Each student, regardless of their level of knowledge, performed their piano piece with excitement and enthusiasm.

Amanda is friendly and patient.  She is also a very positive and encouraging teacher who is able to make confident self-motivated piano players out of her students.  We highly recommend Amanda as a piano teacher.

From Laura:

I had the wonderful opportunity to study piano with Amanda Byars for approximately ten years.  Amanda did an excellent job instructing me beginning in elementary school through my senior year in high school.  Through these formativeyears, Amanda became a caring mentor with our bi-weekly to weekly piano lessons.  I was instructed by Amanda both privately and within a group setting.  As a group, we studied piano technique, musical theory and performance.  We were a diverse group of girls gathered according to our age and abilities, and Amanda did a good job balancing fun with instruction.  We always enjoyed preparing for our annual ensemble performance, where as many as eight pianos played simultaneously and in harmony!

Amanda was patient through these practices, and she helped us plan samll parties to celebrate our successes.  Bean dip, chips, soft drinks, and sweets are my recollection of these much anticipated junk-food parties!  While I did have a good time, Amanda also exposed me to a large repertoire of music.  I was encouraged to perform selected pieces annually for judges and composers.  Periodic recitals were also a good exercise in memory, pose, confidence, and musical preparation.  Filling my piano bench today are compositions by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Grieg, Khachaturian, and Chopin.  My personal favorite, Chopin Nocturn Op.9, No. 2, still echoes most frequently through our home, when I want to unwind and allow myself the gift of music.  It is this love for music that Amanda continues to instill in her students!  Thanks, Amanda!

From Paula and Randy:

What an amazing year it has been for us and our new piano.  We are ever so grateful to have our three daughters learning to play from a teacher as talented as you.  Both you and Steve are so caring of our piano, the music, and of us, and we so appreciate it.  You were and are so knowledgeable of the industry.  For beginners like us, that has been so “instrumental.”  Thank you for all you do.

From Carly, Age 9:

It means so much to me to be able to play the piano.  It is so fun to memorize a piece and then play it for my friends and family.  I can’t wait for the recital on Sunday!  You have made many things in my life easier.  Math has never made sense until I started playing the piano.  So many doors have opened in my life ever since I have started playing piano.  You have helped me understand so much in my life.

From Courtney:

I am happy that I can play the piano.  I also love to memorize because. . . when I am at a friend’s house that has a piano, I play that song.  It is fun.  THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME!!!!!!  I really learn a lot by your teaching.

From Camille:

I can memorize lots of songs on the piano.  For example: “We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Jolly Old St. Nick,” and “Jingle Bells.”  You are the best piano teacher in the WORLD!  You have taught me so much!  I love to just head to the piano and start playing!  I am so excited for future recitals.  I hope you have a great Christmas filled with piano playing and joy.

Piano Sales Testimonials

From Becky:

Buying a piano can seem like such a confusing process, especially when you are a novice. I recently purchased a piano through Amanda Byars. I had no idea when I walked into the store, Peter Collora’s, that I would have so many choices. Amanda was able to help me and my mom make a choice. She was extremely helpful in presenting all the piano options from a Hobart and Cable all the way up to a Steinway and Bosendorfer. I definitely have a better understanding of the different levels of pianos and what makes them all different and with a special sound. The internal parts of the instrument as well and the sounds quality differences as well where all explained to me. Amanda definitely knows her stuff and was very helpful in guiding me with my first piano purchase. The experience was great and I now have one of my own that I love! Thank you Amanda for helping me find my piano and making the experience fun at the same time.

From David and Betsy:

We would like to take the opportunity to convey to you our feelings concerning your company, and a member of your staff, in particular.

Trust is an important factor when considering spending $20,000.  In our search for a new piano, we contacted several piano salesment and piano technicians.  All were very courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful.  We were then fortunate enough to contact Amanda Byars, who, rather than a salesperson, we felt was more a pianist that was available to assist us in making informed decisions about choosing a piano.

Amanda spent a good deal of time educating us with regard to piano construction, features, touch, sound and longevity.  We felt that her opinions and comparisons of pianos were honest, objective, and fair.  We did, and still do, trust her.

It must be very satisfying to know that the quality and class of your instruments is reflected in your organization as a whole.

From Jim:

I want to express my appreciation for your counsel and assistance in my pursuit of a high-quality piano.  Your patience, knowledge, and no pressure attitude allowed me to peacefully evaluate the instruments in the showroom without feeling self-conscious.  I truly believe this gave me an opportunity to make a well-informed decision, something I will always be grateful for.  Thank you for your outstanding work!
